This is a trade qualification for plumbers in residential, industrial and commercial workplaces who are responsible for assembling, installing and maintaining water services, sanitary plumbing and sanitary drainage, gas, roofing and mechanical services in both existing and new constructions.
- Must have an apprenticeship or traineeship arrangement with an employer
- Year 10 completion or equivalent (recommended)
- Satisfactory LLN (Language, Literacy & Numeracy) assessment results
- Must be able to meet the inherent physical requirements of the role
- Must hold a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- Pre-training review to determine suitability
Assessment
Assessment methods include practical demonstrations in workshops and on-site, written assessments, knowledge-based tests, workplace observations by qualified assessors, third-party evidence from employers, and portfolio submissions demonstrating applied competency.
Recognition of Prior Learning
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for experienced workers who can demonstrate competency gained through prior training, work experience, or life experience. An RPL assessment involves gathering evidence of your existing skills and matching them against unit requirements.
A Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) assessment is required prior to enrolment to ensure students can effectively engage with training materials. Apex provides ongoing LLN support services for students who need additional assistance.
